Okay, so here is post #2 of my London blog... and my time here is almost half over already. Great blog, huh? Well, sorry, but my days and nights have been packed! And even tonight, I have to keep on concepting with my partner and flatmate, Nora, on a killer ad campaign for H&M, the trendy, cost-conscious Swedish retailer. (Any ideas? Post me a comment ASAP!) I have plenty of fun experiences and pictures to post, but this one's gonna have to be a quick one to share a funny story that happened to me tonight.
So my two friends and fellow ad schoolers, Jenn & Stefenie, and I are heading home after a long day at Saatchi. We ALSO had class with Nick from RKCR/Y&R from 18.30 - 20.30 (this is the way they tell time here - army time.. so hard!) as well, so we were totally drained. After the long train portion of our commute (change trains TWICE, ugh), we were finally on the last leg of our journey - walking to the bus stop at Old Street. We're talking, we're laughing, recapping the day, when all of of a sudden -- out of nowhere -- a huge black shadow lunges toward me from the right, out of the crevices of a doorway!
My scream rings out in the dark, wet London street. Well, really, it was more like a muffled, dull yelp - nothing like what you would hear in the horror flicks - I guess I'll never be hired as a professional screamer. Anyway, I scream, and Stefenie prepares to fend off my would-be attacker, waving her threatening plastic Oyster card (our monthly Tube and bus pass) in the air. It's good to know I have friends who can back me up in any dark alley!
Well, as it turned out, my dark attacker was really a big old "rubbish" bag that someone had just heaved from the doorway of their store against the metal security gate. No, it wasn't Jack the Ripper reincarnated. Just an old trash bag tossed at a few unwitting, tired art directors with overactive imaginations. Just another exciting adventure encountered during our grueling daily commute.
Stay tuned for more adventures this weekend, as this trio takes on STONEHENGE.... at long last!

Nothing gets your heart racing like a good scare then a mad dash for the bus!
