Cheers from London

Welcome to my London blog! This is also my first time blogging ever, so it's a very momentous occasion all around. I'm here in London from October through December 2005, in my fifth quarter (second year) at Miami Ad School. We're interning at Saatchi & Saatchi, while also taking classes with instructors from Young & Rubicam and Leo Burnett. Brilliant!

First off, the Miami Ad School flat. Located quite a ways from the agency, it is in Northeast London, in the borough of Hackney (although a trusted source told me to just say I am in the neighboring borough of Islington, which sounds much nicer than Hackney.) There are six girls living here, in a flat with ONE bathroom. Yep, ONE bathroom. It's amazing WWIII has not yet broken out, but actually we are all managing to time our bathroom usage really well.

So here are some pictures of the lovely flat, on Eagle Wharf Road. Our funky kitchen comes complete with one of those newfangled washer-and-dryer-in-one-unit contraptions. This is an appliance we don't particularly enjoy, since half the time our clothes come out two sizes too small, and the rest of the time, they are soaking wet. Blimey. I really am not that happy with the fact that this really cute pair of dark jeans that I bought right before coming here have now shrunk to the length of gaucho pants on me. I guess I am right in time for that trend.
